Up for a challenge? Join thousands of young Londoners for the biggest school food growing challenge of the year. The Growathon aims to get 50,000 school pupils involved in some sort of food growing by the end of the summer term.
The result? Happy kids and healthy, home grown food for your school and community.
Just add your food growing activities and numbers to our Carrot Totalizer and watch the numbers grow!
Join the Challenge
Joining the challenge could not be simpler. Just tell us what food growing you are doing. You could:
- Grow one thing
- Attend or organise a food growing event
- Take part in a one-off food growing lesson, workshop or assembly
- Join in with regular food growing activities
- Do a class term food growing project
And lots more!
By joining the challenge you can help inspire other schools and young people to get involved, which is great news for London.
Who we are
The Growathon is a campaign from the Food Growing Schools: London partnership, led by Garden Organic. The partnership brings together the very best of London’s food growing expertise, information and support, with the ambition to inspire and equip every school in London to grow their own food.

Together, we’re cultivating young people’s love for learning and hunger for knowledge, and developing supportive local communities through food.
